We’re Moving

Breaking Beta is moving to its new home at!

After readings Delusion Damage’s guide on how to start a website in 10 minute I realized owning my own site would be really easy. It took me more than  ten minutes but no longer than an hour and it was completely worth it! I now own my own free state on the internet.

I’m going to be leaving up this site but all new posts will be on the .com. I’m going to be posting several posts about the wildest weekend of the year so you’re gonna want to update that RSS or email subscription.

Great news,

I am officially an affiliate of In Mala Fida!

I hope to some time soon write a front page and I encourage you to check out In Mala Fida in the mean time and see what the other guys have to offer. Big thank you goes out to Ferdinand Bardamu who created In Mala Fida and brought me on board.

Quality Over Quantity

In the blogging world I feel a lot of pressure to pump out a consistent number of posts per week to keep readers coming back on a regular. It would be great if I felt I had enough material to post twice a week but I don’t.

I read a few other game blogs and some are pretty good but some of them I can are becoming hard pressed for material. My style of writing is I prefer to tell you the whole story in one post and update as it’s happening. I notice some other bloggers take small events and spread them across several posts. I don’t like that style just because I want to write it while its fresh and I find it’s easier to remember for readers if it’s all in one post.

I’m saying all of this because I despite pressure to please my 50+ daily readers I want to offer the best quality writing. If I miss a week of posting it’s not because I forgot, its because I’m either not done tweaking a post or I just don’t material I’m ready to post.

That being said I have some posts in the works which I think you guys are really going to enjoy so stay tuned!

The following are blogs I follow and I think you’ll enjoy as well…

Citizen Renegade – He’s a great writer and intellegent arguments beating back the falsehoods of femanism as well as great game advice.

VK’s Empire of Dirt – Another great blogger. His stories are engaging and easy to read. I just wish he posted more often.

The Rookie DC – Like me a guy thats fairly new to game. He’s saved me on a few occations from making similar mistakes.

Roosh V – He wrote Bang which is one of the best game books I’ve read. Not just that but he also has some great travel stories. Some of his advice is more taylored to South American woman.

Seduction Base – The advice is basic and some what out of date. But if your really new to game and want further explination of certain topics without buying several books this is the place.

Freedom Twenty-Five – A blogger I very recently discovered. He’s on about the same level I am and has very similar goals. I also like the Fight Club influence in his blog.

The Blog of Tim Ferriss – Love him or hate him; I enjoy reading his stuff. He doesn’t write on game but instead lifestyle design and other interesting topics.

The Oatmeal – I personally find this site the funniest on the web so I can’t help mentioning it.

Men Style Power – One of two men’s style fashion blogs/websites I’ll recommend.

The Style Blogger – The other of two men’s style fashion blogs I’ll recommend.

If your not sure how to keep up with all the content these guys are putting out I would recommend signing up for Google Reader and start subscribing to the little orange RSS button. I subscribe to all of these sites through Google Reader but for my home computer I like using Net News Wire. Its only for Mac users but I like it and it syncs on my ipod touch as well!

And don’t forget to subscribe to Breaking Beta by either email subscription or RSS. If your not sure how to subscribe leave a comment below!

Hello readers,

I’ve been gone awhile and I thought I would explain why.

  1. My Game. Personally my game hasn’t been very interesting lately. Nothing exciting. I could write about things I think are important in game but until I get back on ‘my game’ I don’t want to be giving advice. My game has been really off lately so I’m going back to basics to hopefully get back on top of things.
  2. Busy. Being a full time student, working a job, and having a very active social life doesn’t leave a lot of time to write. With end of term research papers and exams coming up I’ve been busy with school and when I’m not at school I’m probably trying to spend it with my friends.

Those aren’t the only reasons but while I’m working on my game I’m going to take a small break. Expect new stuff mid December when I’m out of school and girls will be back visiting. When I get back I’m going to have plenty of epic stories… of either success or failure!

Site Updates

Breaking Beta is now on Twitter! I’m not very familiar with Twitter and why I need it but then again thats what I’ve thought about a lot of things.

Twitter is working great on my mobile devices but site integration is proving difficult. I’m not well versed in WordPress technical stuff so I’m currently looking into how to design your own page layout and background. Hopefully in the coming months I’ll have the site redesigned.

If you’re interested in following me on Twitter Click Here to check it out.

The other day I was looking at a sick internship to build and manage the social networking platform for a bank in Asia. Because I’m only a blogger and I haven’t integrated other social networking tools I’m skeptical but its convinced me to try and make this blog more social and engaging.

My first step is to learn, create and integrate Twitter into the blog. I’ve never used Twitter so we’ll see how it goes! I’m hoping Ill be able to use it to get more information ideas and humor to my readers. Hope it works!

Wish me the best and you have any other ideas feel free to leave them in the comment section!
